Vegetable parchment paper is the natural, plant-fibre member of the parchment family — a dense, semi-translucent paper with a warm natural tone, supplied plain (not silicone-coated) and unprinted. It is the greaseproof base that converters slit, sheet, fold or die-cut into food wrapping, interleaving, industrial padding and archival liners.

The natural grade in the parchment family
Parchment paper is one family of paper; this page covers its plain, natural member. Key material properties
- Grease and oil barrier. The parchmentized sheet is dense enough that oils, fats and moisture do not soak through, so a vegetable-parchment wrapper or liner keeps grease off the product and the surface beneath it.
- Wet strength and durability. The parchmentizing treatment gives the sheet high wet strength: it holds together when damp or greasy and survives repeated folding and creasing in service.
- Natural translucent look. The fibre is not bleached and carries no coating, so the sheet keeps a warm, translucent natural tone with a smooth surface; white and coloured tones are available for particular uses.
- Food-contact grades. Where the converted paper sits against food — bakery and deli wraps, interleaving sheets — food-contact versions meet food-contact safety requirements; supporting documentation for compliance review is available offline on request.
- Converting and running. The plain sheet slits cleanly into reels, cuts to sheets, folds and die-cuts well, and runs on wrapping, sheeting and packing lines without a silicone layer.
- Renewable cellulose fibre. Vegetable parchment is made from cellulose fibre; the paper is biodegradable and repulpable where local recycling accepts parchment grades.

Typical end uses
Because it resists grease and moisture and stays strong when wet, plain vegetable parchment is commonly converted into:
- Greaseproof wrapping and interleaving for bakery, deli, meat, cheese and confectionery, where an uncoated greaseproof sheet is all the application needs
- Baking and food-service sheets and liners that do not require a silicone release surface
- Industrial padding and interleaving between polished metal, glass, electronics or machined parts, and protective lining for coils, rolls and cartons
- Stationery, archival and craft uses: protective liners and interleaving tissue for documents, archival storage and mounting, as an unprinted natural base for parchment crafts
- Specialty interleaving in pharmaceutical, cosmetic and laboratory uses where a greaseproof, wet-strong sheet is wanted
