High-temperature labelling goes wrong for a predictable reason: a label is chosen for the temperature it will see, and then fails on the time it will spend there. A part that passes briefly through an oven and a motor that runs hot for years are not the same requirement, even when the thermometer reads the same number.

We supply high-temperature labels as a range rather than a single product, so the specification follows your process: polyester film where exposure is short, polyimide film where heat is continuous and the label must not shrink, discolour or lift, and metallised stocks where a reflective face is also needed. Chosen by temperature band, not by a single headline number

Film face stocks are matched to how hot the part gets and how long it stays hot — short exposure, continuous service or peak conditions are three different specifications, and the right answer depends on both, so the label is still readable after the process rather than just before it.

Dimensionally stable when the heat arrives

Polyimide and heat-stabilised films are selected so the label does not shrink, curl at the edges or lift off as the temperature rises — the barcode stays the same size it was when it was printed, so it still scans after the oven.

Resists the chemicals that come with heat

Hot processes bring oils, fluxes, solvents and cleaning agents. Face stocks and adhesives are matched so the print does not bloom or lift when the part is wiped down, degreased or flux-cleaned as part of the same operation.

Printable by thermal transfer or laser

The range covers thermal-transfer and laser-printable stocks, so identification can be produced on the equipment you already run and applied before the part enters the process — rather than being engraved or hand-marked afterwards.

How to Select and Order

  • Start with the thermal profile, not the peak number — a short pass through a soldering or curing stage and a continuous high-temperature service environment call for different films; give us both the temperature and the duration.
  • Choose the finish by what else the label must do — metallised stocks where reflectivity or a metal appearance is wanted, polyimide where the label must tolerate both heat and electrical exposure.
  • Confirm the surface and the chemicals — the substrate the label is applied to and the fluids it meets decide the adhesive more often than the temperature does; tell us both.

FAQ

  • What temperature can these labels withstand? It depends on the film and how long the exposure lasts — the same film behaves differently in a short pass and in continuous service. Tell us your process profile and we will specify a grade and confirm it in writing, rather than quote a headline number that may not apply.
  • How is this different from the PI film labels? PI film is one specific material, covered on its own page including its electrical and soldering characteristics. This page is the selection view across films: if your requirement is polyimide specifically, that page has the detail.
  • Can they go through a soldering process? Board and component labelling through soldering is a common application for polyimide-based stocks — tell us the process and the side of the board the label sits on, and we will confirm the construction.
  • How are they printed? Thermal transfer and laser-printable stocks are both available; tell us your printer and we will match the label and the ribbon.
  • Can I test before ordering? Yes — request samples and run them through your own process before you commit a specification.
