A printed label is where a product first states its price, its claims and its brand. On a bottle of craft drink, a cosmetic jar or a shelf of retail goods, the label carries full-colour artwork, packaging photography and small legal text. When colour shifts between proof and run, fine detail softens, or the label wrinkles on a curved container, the finished pack reads as off-spec no matter how good the product inside is.

The C1S coating levels the paper and limits ink absorption, so ink sits with clean edges - small text, thin rules and photographic halftones stay defined, and brand colour reads true across the run.

Gloss or matte, matched to the design

A gloss face reflects more light and makes colours look vivid; a matte face cuts glare, reads as understated and stays legible under shop lighting - choose by the intent of the pack.

Lamination when the label will be handled

How to Select and Order

• Choose gloss or matte by brand intent - gloss for bright, saturated product and food photography; matte when the label should read quietly and stay legible under strong light.
• Decide lamination by environment - dry, once-handled retail packs can run on the coated face alone; bottles and jars, bathroom cosmetics and drums that meet moisture or wiping are usually laminated.
• Pick the format to match your line - die-cut rolls feed automatic labelers; A4 sheets suit manual application and in-house printing; shapes can run from squares and circles to brand-logo contours.

FAQ

• What is the difference between art paper and offset (uncoated) paper labels? Art paper is coated on one side, giving a smooth, low-absorbency face that holds fine full-colour and photographic print. Uncoated offset paper has a flatter, matte surface better suited to clean text at an economical price - choose by whether your label is mostly artwork or mostly type.
• Do art paper labels need lamination? Not always. On a dry, once-handled package the coated face is often enough. Laminate when the label will meet moisture, oil, scuffing or repeated handling, such as bottles, jars, cosmetics and drums.
• What printing and variable data are available? Four-colour process, spot colour and mono printing, plus variable data such as serial numbers and QR codes where the artwork needs them.
• Can the label be made in any shape? Yes - die-cut to squares, circles or complex brand-logo contours, in roll or sheet format, with clean matrix waste so labels feed smoothly.
