In an electronics line, the label is not a neutral object. An ordinary film label handles and releases static charge the same way any other plastic does, and a board, a tray or a component that is sensitive to discharge does not distinguish between the ESD you were protecting it from and the ESD your label just introduced.

We supply anti-static labels for that reason: face stocks treated to limit static build-up on the surface, so identification can be applied to components, boards and trays without the label itself becoming the risk. Tell us the device, the process and how the label is applied.

Key Features

Treated to limit static build-up

The face stock is treated so that the label does not accumulate and release charge in the way an untreated film does — so applying identification to a sensitive board or tray does not itself become the event your ESD controls exist to prevent.

Stable through normal electronics handling

These stocks are selected for the handling that goes with electronics production — reels, trays, magazines and repeated pick-and-place — so the label does not lift, curl or shred as it moves through the line, and identification survives to the end of the process.

Transparent options that do not hide the part

Clear and semi-transparent face stocks let you label a component or a reel without masking what is underneath — so the marking can be added without losing sight of the part, its orientation or its condition.

Smooth surface, printable and writable

The treated surface takes thermal transfer, laser and handwriting cleanly, so identification can be produced on your existing equipment or added by hand at the bench, rather than forcing a change of process.

How to Select and Order

  • Start from your ESD requirement, not from a number — tell us what your process is controlled to and where the label is applied; we will confirm which available stock meets it rather than working backwards from a headline figure.
  • Choose clear or opaque by what must stay visible — clear stock where the part or its orientation must remain readable through the label; opaque where legibility of the marking matters most.
  • Match the adhesive to the surface — component bodies, PCB, moulded trays and metal reels each behave differently; the substrate decides more of the specification than the face stock does.

FAQ

  • What is the surface resistivity of these labels? It depends on the treatment and the stock, and we confirm it against your ESD requirement rather than publishing a headline range that may not apply to your process. Tell us the target your line is controlled to and we will confirm what is available, with documentation provided offline.
  • Does the anti-static performance wear off? The treatment is in the stock rather than a coating that rubs away, but what matters is whether it still meets your requirement after the handling your process applies. Tell us the handling and we will advise on the appropriate stock.
  • Are they suitable for cleanroom use? Tell us your classification and whether the label is applied inside the controlled area; the construction and the packaging can then be matched to it.
  • How is this different from an ordinary film label? An ordinary film label is not treated for static control. These stocks are, which is the reason to specify them for components and boards rather than using a general-purpose label.
  • Can I test before ordering? Yes — request samples and check the handling, the adhesion and your own static measurements before you commit a specification.
