Where a label sits inside a cabinet, along a cable run or on a battery pack, the question a safety reviewer asks is not how good the print looks — it is what the label itself does when something goes wrong. An ordinary film or paper label is simply more material that can burn.
We supply flame-retardant label stocks for those positions: face materials and adhesives selected so the label does not add fuel to the surfaces it is applied to, in grades matched to the equipment and the standard your project is assessed against. Scope note: these are identification labels. They are not flame-retardant components, barriers or protective layers, and they do not replace any part of a fire-rated assembly.

Stable where the heat comes from
These stocks are selected for equipment that runs warm, so the label does not shrink, curl or lift as panels and cables heat up through normal service — the identification stays where it was applied instead of becoming a loose edge inside a cabinet.
Resists the chemicals found in electrical work
Fluxes, contact cleaners, oils and solvents are part of the environment. Face stocks and adhesives are matched so the print does not lift or bloom when the panel is cleaned, and the label survives the working life of the equipment it identifies.

Labels are die-cut to your specification as rolls or sheets, printed with your identification scheme — so the marking matches the terminal, the breaker or the module it sits on rather than being cut down from a stock size.

How to Select and Order
- Start from the requirement, not the material — tell us which standard the installation is assessed against, and we will confirm which of the available stocks applies, rather than working backwards from a product name.
- Match the adhesive to the substrate — painted steel, anodised aluminium, cable jacket and battery casing each need a different adhesive; the substrate usually decides the specification more than the label face does.
- Confirm the documentation you need — if an auditor or a customer requires a declaration, say so at the enquiry stage so the paperwork can be arranged alongside the sample.

FAQ
- Are your labels UL94 rated? Rated options are available and we will confirm which applies to your application. Test documentation is provided offline on request; we do not publish certification numbers on this page.
- How do they work? The face stock is a flame-retardant formulation rather than a standard film. Tell us the requirement and we will match the grade — the point is that the label does not add fuel, not that it protects anything around it.
- Can they be used as insulation or a fire barrier? No. These are identification labels. They must not be used in place of a flame-retardant component, a barrier or any part of a fire-rated assembly.
- How is this different from the PI film labels? Polyimide is one material whose own properties include flame retardance; that page covers it in detail. This page covers the flame-retardant requirement as an application, across the stocks available for it.
- Can I test before ordering? Yes — request samples and check adhesion and print on your own equipment and surfaces before you commit a specification.
