A label that falls off at −18°C has failed at the only moment that matters. In a freezer, a chiller or a cold-chain transfer, the packaging is cold, damp and often frosted, and the adhesive on an ordinary label loses its tack before it ever reaches the shelf — leaving unlabelled product, lost batch traceability and rework inside a room nobody wants to spend time in.

We supply cold-resistant labels built for that environment: low-temperature adhesive grades that stay tacky and stay put below zero, face stocks that do not go brittle or cockle when the temperature drops, and print that stays legible through condensation and repeated temperature cycling. Key Features

Adhesive that keeps its tack below zero

The adhesive is formulated to stay soft and tacky at low temperature rather than freezing hard, so it grips cold packaging on the line instead of sliding or lifting — labels that are still attached when the pallet reaches its destination, not just when they leave yours.

Withstands repeated freeze-thaw cycles

Packaging in a cold chain is chilled, moved, thawed, re-chilled and moved again. Labels are selected to survive that cycling without the edges lifting or the face stock cracking — one label stays legible through the whole journey, so traceability is not lost at the third handover.

Stable through condensation and frost

Chilled surfaces are humid surfaces. Face stocks and laminates are matched so the print does not smear or bleed when condensation forms on the pack or frost builds up in the freezer — barcodes still scan at the cold store door.

Printable by the method you already use

Direct thermal, thermal transfer and inkjet are all supported, so the labels can be printed on the equipment you already run rather than demanding a new printer — and the print is chosen to stay readable at low temperature, not just at the moment it comes off the machine.

How to Select and Order

  • Choose the adhesive by the lowest temperature and the substrate — a chiller at +4°C, a freezer at −18°C and a blast freezer are three different specifications; tell us the range and the surface and we will match the grade.
  • Choose the face stock by the print method and the finish required — direct thermal for on-demand printing, thermal transfer where print must survive longer, synthetic paper where moisture is constant.
  • Confirm before committing — cold-chain labelling fails at the edges, so test on your own packaging and at your own temperature before fixing a specification.

MOQ, lead time and freight depend on material, size and quantity — send your specification and volume and we will quote.

FAQ

  • What is the lowest temperature these labels work at? It depends on the adhesive grade and the substrate — tell us your application range and the surface, and we will confirm a grade rather than quote a headline number that may not apply to your pack.
  • Can they be applied to packaging that is already frozen? In most cases yes, with the right low-temperature grade, provided the surface is free of ice and standing water. Tell us whether you label before or after freezing.
  • Will they survive repeated freezing and thawing? The grades we specify for cold-chain use are selected for that cycling. Send us your cycle and we will confirm.
  • Can I print them with my existing printer? Direct thermal, thermal transfer and inkjet are all supported — tell us your printer model and we will match the label and the print type.
  • Can I test before ordering? Yes — request samples and run them through your own cold chain before you commit a specification.
