Poultry Absorbent Pads

Chicken, duck and goose give up a lot of liquid — watery blood from cut surfaces, thaw water from frozen birds and juices that collect inside the cavity of a whole bird. Left on the tray, this fluid makes skin slippery and grey, softens tender meat, feeds bacteria and shortens the chilled shelf life before the pack reaches the counter.

Poultry absorbent pads sit beneath whole birds and cut parts and pull that moisture away fast. Tuned to the watery, protein-rich drip of poultry, they keep the base of the pack dry, the skin presentable and the meat firm through chilled and frozen distribution.

Where Poultry Absorbent Pads Are Used

Wherever chilled or frozen poultry sits in a tray:

• Whole birds — chilled or frozen whole chicken, duck and goose tray packs.
• Cut parts — wings, drumsticks, thighs, breasts, wing tips and other portions in retail trays.
• Offal and by-products — hearts, gizzards and similar items packed fresh.

Key Features

Fast capture of watery, high-volume poultry drip

Poultry fluid is thinner and higher in volume than many other meat juices, and it keeps coming from cut surfaces and the cavity. The core absorbs quickly and turns the liquid to a gel that stays in the pad, so birds can be stacked without blood seeping back over the skin.

Protects tender meat and keeps skin presentable

Sitting in its own juice makes poultry skin sticky and pale and softens breast and thigh meat. Removing the liquid keeps each piece dry and separate, which protects texture and stops juices from one cut or cavity colouring or flavouring another.

Food-grade materials, antimicrobial option on request

Pads are made from food-grade materials that meet international food-contact safety requirements and are safe for direct contact with raw poultry. An antimicrobial-treated version is available on request.

Handles the fat and mixed juices poultry releases

Poultry drip carries fat and protein as well as water, which can clog an ordinary pad. The structure stays open and holds up after absorbing a mix of blood, moisture and fat, and remains flexible through the cold chain.
