A pizza tray is a formed paper disc that sits inside the box and does what the corrugated base cannot: it takes the first of the grease, keeps the base from marking, and puts the brand on the surface under the pie. We form them in four size labels from PE-laminated kraft paper, plain or printed.

Where Paper Pizza Trays Are Used

  • Pizza boxes — the liner under the pie, plain or printed.
  • Slice counters and food display — a shallow tray that holds a portion and its grease.
  • Takeaway and delivery — a tray that keeps the base from sticking to the box.
  • Catering and buffet — portioned savoury and fruit items presented on a formed disc.
  • Private label — a printed tray that carries the brand inside the box.

The same counter usually buys its wraps and mats on the same order — see Greaseproof Food Wrapping Paper and Greaseproof Placemat Paper. The full line sits under Baking & Food Paper.

Key Features

Formed, not folded

The wall is pressed rather than creased, so the tray stands on its own and can be loaded before the pizza goes in. A folded liner collapses the moment it is picked up.

A PE barrier for the grease

Kraft paper laminated on one side with PE holds the oil that would otherwise wick into the corrugated base and mark the box. The lamination is a plastic film, so this tray is not plastic-free and not compostable — see the material note below.

Printing on the base or the wall

The tray is one of the last surfaces a customer sees before the first slice lifts out, so it carries a logo or a pattern in food-grade ink — on the base, on the wall, or both.

For serving, not for heating

These are serving trays for pizza boxes and display. They are not for oven or air-fryer use and they are not a baking liner; for oven work see Pre-Cut Parchment Sheets.

Technical Specifications

Four stock size labels cover the boxes and display trays we see most:

  • PE-laminated kraft paper, formed tray; printing available
  • Base diameters 11.5 to 20 cm; heights 2 to 2.5 cm
  • Size labels: 4, 6, 7 and 8 inch
  • No optical brightening agents
  • Packed 50 or 100 pieces

Other base diameters and wall heights are formed to order. Send the box's internal dimensions or a drawing and we will confirm clearance at the rim and at the lid.

Size labels, base diameters and heights

The inch values are size labels, not measurements. Compare options on the base diameter and the height in centimetres, then check a formed sample with your pizza in the box, including clearance at the rim and the lid.

6 inch14 cm2 cm50 / 100 pcs
7 inch16 cm2.5 cm50 / 100 pcs
8 inch20 cm2.5 cm50 / 100 pcs

The 6-inch label is the shallowest of the four at 2 cm, so it is the one to check against the lid first if a topped pizza sits high on the tray.

How to Select and Order

  • Match the base diameter to the pizza, then check the wall height against the box lid.
  • Treat the inch figure as a label; the centimetre base diameter is what the pizza actually sits on.
  • Decide whether the print goes on the base, the wall or both — the base is the surface the customer sees last.
  • Choose the pack by channel: 50 for a counter selling by the slice, 100 for a box assembly line.
  • Send size label, base diameter and height, pack count and box dimensions — request a quote or sample and we will confirm tray, print and documents.
  • Material note. The trays are kraft paper laminated on one side with PE. PE is a plastic film, so the tray is neither plastic-free nor compostable, and recyclability depends on what local collection accepts for PE-coated paper. Tell us the destination market if the pack has to carry a material claim.

FAQ

What material are the trays?

Kraft paper laminated on one side with PE, formed into a tray. Printing is available on the base, the wall or both.

Can the trays go in an oven or an air fryer?

No. They are serving trays for pizza boxes and display, not baking liners. Use Pre-Cut Parchment Sheets for oven work.

How do I choose between the 4, 6, 7 and 8 inch labels?

Match the base diameter to your pizza and the height to the box lid: 11.5, 14, 16 and 20 cm at 2.5, 2, 2.5 and 2.5 cm.

Are the trays plastic-free or compostable?

No. The PE lamination is a plastic film, so the tray is neither plastic-free nor compostable; recyclability depends on local collection accepting PE-coated paper.
