Composite foam material is a new type of polymer material formed by laminating, co-extruding, or combining two or more foam materials with different properties through a specific process. This material combines the advantages of each single component, to achieve more excellent functionality and a wide range of applications adaptability. Composite foam can contain foamed plastics such as polyurethane (PU), ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer (EVA), polyethylene (PE), rubber (e.g. SBR, EPDM, etc.), aluminum foils, and other functional materials, such as conductive materials, sound-absorbent materials, heat-insulating materials and so on.

Features

  1. Multi-functionality: Composite foam combines the advantages of various materials, such as good mechanical strength and elasticity, excellent sound and heat insulation, excellent electromagnetic shielding performance, and superior chemical resistance and waterproof performance.
  2. lightweight design: because of its internal closed-cell structure, so that the composite foam has a low density, light weight characteristics, help reduce the overall weight of the structure, in line with modern industrial products on the demand for lightweight.
  3. Cushioning and protection performance: composite foam can provide excellent impact absorption capacity, effectively protect the package from vibration and shock damage during transport, but also commonly used in electronic equipment as a shock absorbing pads.
  4. Environmental adaptability: According to different composite formulations, foam materials may have high and low temperature resistance, UV aging, non-toxic environmental protection, and other characteristics, and in some cases, but also to achieve conductive, anti-static and other functions in order to meet the requirements of special applications.
  5. Processing convenience: composite foam is easy to cut, stamping into various shapes, can be backed with adhesive treatment to facilitate the installation of fixed, and because of its low residual deformation rate, to ensure the long-term stability of the product use.

Application

Composite foam material has a wide range of applications:

  • Packaging industry: used as anti-vibration packaging materials for high-grade commodities, precision instruments, electronic products, etc., to improve transport safety.
  • Construction field: as a wall, floor, roof of the heat and sound insulation materials, enhance the energy efficiency of the building and living comfort.
  • Automotive industry: used in large quantities in automotive interior parts, shock absorbers, sealing strips, etc., to play a noise reduction, shock absorption, heat insulation effect.
  • Electronic communication: made into EMI/RFI electromagnetic shielding materials, applied to circuit boards, cable interfaces, etc., to reduce electromagnetic interference and ensure the quality of signal transmission.
  • Healthcare: Used in medical equipment packaging, mattress padding, rehabilitation equipment, etc., requiring antibacterial, non-toxic and can provide comfortable support.
