Pleated basket filters sit in the flat-bottom drippers and batch brewers that run all day. We cut and pleat them in four model sizes across two paper weights, so a small pour-over dripper and a twelve-cup batch brewer each get paper that flows at the speed the bed needs.

Where Pleated Basket Coffee Filters Are Used

  • Flat-bottom pour-over drippers — the 155 and 185 sizes, one to four cups at a time.
  • Domestic drip coffee makers — the 8 to 12 cup machines that fill home kitchens.
  • Commercial batch brewers — 12-cup and larger, loaded once and drawn down through service.
  • Cafés, offices and staff kitchens — the machine runs a queue rather than a single cup.
  • Private label — replacement filters sold under a retailer's or appliance brand.

Key Features

Two paper weights, not one

50 gsm for the small flat-bottom drippers, 21 gsm for the big machines. The heavier paper slows the flow where the bed is shallow; the lighter paper keeps a deep bed from stalling the brew.

Pleats that hold the basket shape

The fluted wall keeps the filter standing away from the basket wall, so water passes through the paper rather than bypassing it down the side.

A model code you can read

Each code carries laid-flat diameter and base diameter in millimetres. 200/80 is 200 mm across when laid flat, on an 80 mm base — enough to pick a replacement without the original packaging.

White or natural brown

Both colours run on the same wood-pulp base and neither carries optical brightening agents, so the choice is presentation, not performance.

Technical Specifications

Four stock models cover the flat-bottom drippers and drip machines we see most:

  • Virgin wood-pulp filter paper, 50 gsm (155/45, 185/50) or 21 gsm (200/80, 250/110)
  • Pleated basket form; white or natural brown; no optical brightening agents
  • Cut and pleated on our own lines to the model dimensions below

Other diameters and wall heights are pleated to order. Send the basket's base diameter and side depth with units and we will match a model.

Model dimensions

The two numbers in each code describe laid-flat diameter and base diameter — not wall height. Check both, plus the wall height, against your basket before ordering.

How to Select and Order

  • Measure the basket, not the machine. Base diameter and side depth decide the fit; cup count is only a serving guide.
  • For a replacement order, send the brewer model and the original filter reference if you have it.
  • Small flat-bottom dripper takes 50 gsm; a large batch brewer takes 21 gsm. Mixing them changes the brew time noticeably.
  • Choose colour by presentation: white for a clean machine-side look, natural brown where the unbleached tone reads better.
  • Check an opened sample in the brewer before approving a production run — pleat depth is where fit is won or lost.
  • Send models, colour, packing and destination — request a quote or sample and we will confirm paper, pleat and documents.
  • EU food-contact packs. PFAS restrictions apply to food-contact packaging from 12 August 2026 — tell us the destination market and the brewing use, and we will confirm the grade, the grease-resistance route and the documents you need. Fluorine-free options are available on request; third-party test reports for a specific batch are supplied on request, and we do not publish certificate numbers online.

FAQ

How do I read a size like 200/80?

The first number is the laid-flat diameter and the second is the base diameter, both in millimetres. A 200/80 filter fits most 8 to 12 cup domestic drip machines.

Can I pick a replacement from the cup count alone?

Use cup count as an application reference only. For a replacement order, send the brewer model, the original filter reference and the basket's base diameter and side depth.

Why do the small and large models use different paper?

50 gsm slows the flow in a shallow bed; 21 gsm keeps a deep bed of coffee from stalling. Using the lighter paper in a small dripper shortens the contact time and thins the cup.

Do the filters contain optical brightening agents?

No. Neither colour carries optical brightening agents.
