Cone and fan-shaped filters are the two shapes most pour-over brewers take. We convert food-grade filter paper into both, die-cut and pleated to the model sizes roasters and housewares brands actually stock, in white or natural brown.

Where Cone and Fan-Shaped Coffee Filters Are Used

  • Specialty roasters — a filter packed with the bag, so the customer brews the way the sample was cupped.
  • Housewares and appliance brands — replacement filters for V-style cones and flat-bottom drippers.
  • Cafés and coffee bars — cupping-bench and decanting stock, changed several times a shift.
  • Hotels, offices and institutional foodservice — portioned filters for single-cup and batch brewing.
  • Private label and gift sets — printed sleeves and boxes that carry the brand rather than the converter's name.

Key Features

Two shapes, one filter paper

The cone and the fan shape run on the same 50 gsm wet-strength base, so a range can carry both without holding two paper specifications and two sets of documents.

Basis weight matched to the brew

50 gsm holds a slow enough flow for full extraction in a V-style cone, and stays strong enough that the seam does not tear when the wet cone is lifted out.

White or natural brown, no optical brighteners

Neither paper colour carries optical brightening agents. Natural brown keeps the unbleached look that reads as craft on a shelf; white stays neutral under a bright café light.

A side seam that stays closed

The cone seam is sealed rather than glued with a wet-soluble adhesive, so it holds through a complete pour and through the rinse a barista gives it before the first coffee.

Technical Specifications

The standard range covers the cone and fan shapes used by the brewers we see most:

  • 50 gsm food-grade wet-strength filter paper, virgin wood pulp
  • Cone V01 / V02 and fan-shaped 101 / 102 / 103 / 104, cut to the dimensions below
  • White or natural brown; no optical brightening agents

Shapes outside this list, other gusset depths and printed sleeves are made to order. Send the dripper or brewer model and we will match a die.

Model dimensions

Read the two shapes separately. A cone is specified by top width and side length; a fan-shaped filter needs the bottom measurement too, because that is what seats in the dripper's flat base.

How to Select and Order

  • Start from the dripper, not the cup count. Cup counts are a serving guide; top width and side length decide the fit.
  • Cone for V-style pour-over, fan shape for flat-bottom drippers with a ridged base.
  • White where the filter is part of a clean, modern presentation; natural brown where the unbleached look sells.
  • Choose packing by channel: 50 or 100 pieces per box for retail, bulk cartons for café and foodservice accounts.
  • Send models, colour, packing and destination — request a quote or sample and we will confirm paper, cut and documents.
  • EU food-contact packs. PFAS restrictions apply to food-contact packaging from 12 August 2026 — tell us the destination market and the brewing use, and we will confirm the grade, the grease-resistance route and the documents you need. Fluorine-free options are available on request; third-party test reports for a specific batch are supplied on request, and we do not publish certificate numbers online.

FAQ

Which cone and fan-shaped models do you supply?

Cone V01 and V02; fan-shaped 101, 102, 103 and 104. Both shapes are cut from the same 50 gsm filter paper.

Will a fan-shaped filter fit my dripper?

Match the top width, side length and bottom diameter to your dripper's filter holder, then check one in a normal brew. A 102 covers most two-to-four-cup flat-bottom drippers.

Do the filters contain optical brightening agents?

No. Neither the white nor the natural brown paper carries optical brightening agents.

Can the retail box carry our brand?

Yes. Sleeves and boxes print with food-grade ink to your artwork; the filter itself can also stay unprinted so the pack carries the whole design.
