Medical dialysis paper is a special paper material designed and manufactured for the medical field, which is widely used in the sterile packaging of medical devices. Its core feature is that it has good air permeability and at the same time can effectively block the penetration of microorganisms to ensure that the medical devices inside the package remain sterile before storage, transport and final use.

Features

  1. Aseptic barrier performance: the core function of medical dialysis paper is to provide a reliable aseptic barrier to prevent external microorganisms from contaminating the medical devices inside the package. It prevents the penetration of bacteria, viruses and other microscopic organisms and ensures that the medical device maintains a strictly aseptic environment before it is opened.
  2. Breathability: Dialysis paper allows the free passage of air and sterilising media such as EO (Ethylene Oxide) gas and steam, which is essential for the treatment of medical devices using EO sterilisation, autoclaving and other methods. Good air permeability ensures that the sterilisation process is carried out efficiently and helps the escape of residual gases after sterilisation, reducing the risk of potential chemical residues.
  3. Wet strength and puncture resistance: Given that medical packaging may be exposed to wet environments or pressure, medical dialysis paper needs to have high wet strength to maintain structural integrity and not break easily even when exposed to moisture. In addition, its puncture resistance is good, can resist the external impact that may be suffered in the process of handling and storage, to protect the internal items from damage.
  4. Adhesive coating and heat sealing performance: some medical dialysis papers are coated with a layer of adhesive to form medical adhesive coated dialysis paper. These products have a larger heat seal window, are easy to heat seal and have a moderate peel force, especially for the grid-like, low-temperature EVA (ethylene vinyl acetate copolymer) high-performance heat seal coating. These coatings not only provide a visible seal transfer and ensure uniform sealing quality, but also make the package easy to open and less likely to damage internal medical devices by over-sealing.
  5. Economical and environmentally friendly: Compared with other packaging materials such as non-woven fabrics, medical dialysis paper is less costly, and due to its paper-based properties, it is relatively easy to recycle and degrade, which meets the healthcare industry's dual needs for cost control and sustainable development.

Applications

Medical dialysis paper has a wide range of applications in the medical industry, mainly serving the aseptic packaging needs of various types of medical devices, including but not limited to the following areas:

  • medical device packaging: used to encapsulate medical devices that need to be sterilised by EO ethylene oxide or high-pressure steam (STEAM), such as medical catheters, haemostatic gauze, artificial joints, high-frequency surgical electrodes, medical probes, indwelling needles, medical balloons, medical accessories, surgical gowns, laryngeal masks, disposable blood circuits and so on.
  • medical equipment set packaging: for medical equipment sets containing multiple components, dialysis paper can be used to make composite packaging bags, integrating all relevant parts in a sterile environment, which are easy for healthcare workers to remove and use quickly and safely.
  • pharmaceutical packaging: certain pharmaceutical products that require high aseptic conditions, such as sterile powders, liquid pharmaceutical preparations or injectable drugs, may also use dialysis paper as an outer packaging material to ensure the sterility of the product before use.
  • Laboratory consumables packaging: laboratory use of various types of disposable sterile consumables, such as sampling swabs, petri dishes, pipette tips, etc., also often use dialysis paper packaging for aseptic protection.
