Food-grade unbleached kraft paper is a natural-brown kraft base paper made from unbleached pulp and supplied uncoated. It is the plain kraft stock behind wrapping papers, food bags and inner liners — the base converters print, slit and fold into natural-looking food-contact packaging.

What is food-grade unbleached kraft paper

Food-grade unbleached kraft paper is made from clean virgin wood pulp that is not bleached, so the sheet keeps the fibre's natural brown colour and the rugged, rustic look associated with kraft packaging. It is supplied uncoated: no coating or lamination is applied to the surface, so the paper keeps kraft's natural absorbency and breathability. Where a bag or wrapper must hold out grease or moisture, a water-based coated natural-kraft grade is available for those end uses. Key material properties

• Natural brown colour, no bleaching. No bleach and no fluorescent whitening agents are used, so the sheet keeps the fibre's natural brown tone; the clean, even surface prints well, especially for monochrome or two-colour brand work on kraft.
• Strength and toughness. Strong fibre bonding gives high tensile, tear and burst strength, so the paper carries weight and survives handling — the basis for kraft bags and heavy-duty wrapping papers.
• Controlled breathability. The uncoated sheet lets air and moisture vapour pass slowly, which helps keep baked goods and dry foods such as bread, flour and pastries in good condition.
• Easy converting and printing. The paper creases, folds, die-cuts and glues cleanly and runs reliably on bag-making and wrapping lines; flexo, offset and gravure printing suit kraft-style branding.
• Food-contact safety. Food-grade materials meet international food-contact safety requirements; supporting documentation for compliance review is available offline on request.
