Frangible Paper Labels

For a warranty seal, an authenticity seal or a quality-hold tag, everything depends on what the label does when someone tries to remove it. If it peels off cleanly, it can be lifted from a returned device and stuck onto another; an opened box can be re-closed and presented as new; and the "never opened" promise quietly stops meaning anything.

We supply frangible paper labels that close that gap: a paper substrate engineered to shatter into fragments when removal is attempted, so the label cannot be peeled off whole and re-applied. Optional VOID or OPENED wording and patterned tear lines leave tampering visible at a glance, and logos, warning statements, serial numbers or QR codes are pre-printed on the label.

Key Features

Shatters instead of peeling off

The frangible paper substrate is processed so its fibres break into fragments once removal is attempted. The label cannot be lifted whole, transferred or re-applied after opening, so seal integrity does not depend on anyone's honesty.

Removal that leaves its own evidence

VOID or OPENED wording and patterned tear lines can be printed onto the label. When it breaks during a removal attempt, these marks stay visible on the surface beneath, so tampering is obvious at a glance without instruments.

How to Select and Order

• Decide the removal evidence first — a VOID/OPENED imprint for an obvious "opened" signal on the surface, or serial/QR numbering when every seal must map to its own record.
• Match adhesive and shape to the surface you seal — high-tack acrylic suits metal, plastic, glass and paper packaging; square, round, oval and custom shapes are available. Tell us the exact surface and we will confirm the right grade before ordering.
• Pick single-run pre-print or variable serials — logo and warning text are printed in the pre-print run; serial numbers or unique QR codes are added per label and matched to your verification record.
• Choose format by volume — roll-fed for machine application or high volume; sheets for smaller runs; die-cut to the shape of your seal point.

FAQ

• How is a frangible label different from a fragile warning sticker? A fragile warning sticker asks handlers to treat a carton with care during transport. A frangible paper label is an anti-tamper seal: once affixed it shatters on removal, cannot be re-applied, and leaves VOID/OPENED evidence — for warranty, authenticity and "do not open" seals rather than transport warnings.
• Is the VOID/OPENED imprint compulsory? No — it is optional. Add it when you want a visible "opened" signal left on the surface; the shatter-on-removal effect works on its own.
• Can a logo and a running serial number be on the same label? Yes — logo, brand and warning text are pre-printed, and serial numbers or unique QR codes are added per label so each seal matches your record.
• Will removing the label damage the item? The substrate breaks and the imprint appears on the surface beneath — the design destroys the label, not the item. For glossy metal or plastic, send the exact finish and we will confirm the adhesive and ink pairing first.
• Can I test before a bulk order? Yes — request samples, apply one to your real surface, try a removal and check shatter and imprint behaviour before committing.
